A project that perfectly aligns with Portsmouth's future-proof masterplan, we helped to achieve planning for brand new student halls and facilities. The 28-storey building will include housing for almost 600 individuals, communal spaces and a bar for students.

Fusion Students is a longstanding client, and we were confident in the high-quality design and architecture of the final proposal. As the second-tallest building in Portsmouth, the new student accommodation will add a striking, contemporary structure to the city's skyline. Bidwells provided heritage and townscape assessment for this project.

The proposed site was sitting alongside listed buildings and a conservation area. To demonstrate the strength of the scheme to the planning authority, our team carried out both Heritage and Townscape & Visual Impact Assessments (TVIA). And to ensure the plan was accepted, we helped to prove that it was sensitive to the surrounding environment.

The approval of this major scheme is a huge success for the client and demonstrates how the city of Portsmouth is committed to regeneration.
